A Timeless Café Racer, Reimagined
The visual identity revolves around one striking element: a deep Candy Red fuel tank, perfectly matched with the front mudguard. Every mechanical component surrounding it has been blacked out, including the engine, gearbox and final drive, creating a dramatic contrast that naturally draws the eye toward the handcrafted bodywork.
The frame received a durable powder-coated finish, while the wheels were refinished in a bespoke satin grey that subtly separates them from the rest of the black chassis, adding just the right amount of visual depth.
At the front, clip-on handlebars replace the original riding position, instantly giving the motorcycle its unmistakable café racer posture. A compact Bates headlight sits tightly between the fork legs, while classic fork gaiters visually strengthen the front end and eliminate unnecessary chrome.
A Motogadget Mini speedometer keeps the cockpit exceptionally clean, complemented by redesigned switchgear and an entirely new electrical system built from the ground up for modern reliability.
Every detail reflects Meister Engineering's philosophy: clean design, premium craftsmanship and technical precision. The motorcycle remains unmistakably a classic BMW, yet every line, every component and every finish has been refined to create a machine that feels contemporary without losing its heritage.
The BMW R80 RT Monolever has long been admired for its reliability, balanced handling, and unmistakable flat-twin character. Introduced as a comfortable touring motorcycle, it became one of BMW's most dependable platforms of the 1980s. Its robust monolever chassis and air-cooled boxer engine made it the perfect foundation for a custom build designed to blend classic heritage with a more purposeful, minimalist attitude.
A shortened, road-homologated Meister Engineering rear frame completely transforms the bike's proportions. Finished with a bespoke café racer seat and an integrated seat cowl, the rear section creates one continuous flowing line from the tank to the tail, giving the motorcycle a purposeful, race-inspired stance while remaining fully road legal.
Performance improvements accompany the visual transformation. A Brembo PS master cylinder delivers a firmer, more progressive braking feel, while a Wilbers rear shock significantly enhances comfort, stability and control. Every upgrade was selected not only for aesthetics but to make the motorcycle genuinely more enjoyable to ride.
Some motorcycles tell the story of where they came from. This one tells the story of what they can become.
