For this project, our goal was not to create an aggressive show bike, but rather a machine that captures the pure essence of a classic café racer. Every modification was driven by one principle: remove everything unnecessary while preserving the soul of the motorcycle. The result is an elegant and lightweight interpretation of the BMW boxer, where every component serves a purpose and every line contributes to the overall harmony of the design.The result is a machine that feels equally at home parked in front of a modern design studio as it does carving through mountain roads.

Mechanically, the motorcycle retains the characterful BMW boxer engine, finished in natural aluminium to contrast beautifully with the deep blue frame and bodywork. The polished YSS twin rear shocks add both performance and a classic visual touch, perfectly matching the vintage spirit of the project. A Hattech exhaust system completes the package, delivering a refined boxer soundtrack while maintaining full road legality.

The cockpit follows the same philosophy of reduction. Clip-on handlebars, discreet instrumentation and carefully routed controls create a clean riding environment that keeps the focus on the machine itself.

Every unnecessary visual distraction has been removed to emphasize the beauty of the mechanical components and the purity of the original BMW architecture.

The BMW R80 is one of the most iconic air-cooled boxer motorcycles ever produced. Built around BMW’s legendary flat-twin engine, it earned its reputation through reliability, mechanical simplicity, and effortless long-distance capability. The rear section has been completely redesigned around our shortened rear frame, fully homologated for Swiss road use. A removable seat cowl allows the motorcycle to switch effortlessly between a pure single-seat café racer configuration and a more practical setup. The handcrafted full-grain leather saddle brings warmth and authenticity to the build, while its slim profile visually extends the custom tank and reinforces the bike’s minimalist silhouette.

While the motorcycle embraces a classic aesthetic, numerous details bring the riding experience into the modern era.

At the rear, miniature 3-in-1 LED indicators integrate brake light, tail light and turn signal functions into an almost invisible package.

Finished in a rich navy blue combined with polished aluminium, chrome details and natural leather, this R80 is a tribute to traditional café racer culture.
