This BMW R80GS project started from a very typical Swiss-spec touring GS, equipped with a large windshield, a dual-seat configuration and substantial luggage racks. The objective was not to reinvent the motorcycle, but to reveal the qualities that were already hidden beneath years of practical accessories and visual weight. By fitting a genuine BMW G/S fuel tank, the front end immediately became lighter and more agile in appearance, exposing the beauty of the air-cooled boxer engine and bringing the proportions closer to those of the original adventure machines that inspired generations of riders.

To further reinforce the minimalist approach, a Motogadget Tiny speedometer was integrated into the cockpit, reducing visual clutter to the absolute minimum.

The exhaust system is equipped with our signature Hattech silencers, for which Meister Engineering is the official Swiss importer. It provide the perfect finishing touch, delivering both the sound and visual presence expected from a premium Trail air-cooled boxer build.

The design philosophy was deliberately restrained. Black, silver and polished aluminium dominate the motorcycle, creating a timeless aesthetic that feels equally at home today as it would have thirty years ago.

The original fork was retained to preserve the authentic riding character, while the braking system was significantly upgraded with a large-disc conversion and Brembo master cylinder. This complete setup was homologated through the Dynamic Test Center (DTC) in Biel, Switzerland, ensuring modern braking performance without compromising legality or reliability.

At the rear, a premium suspension system provides exceptional control both on the road and off the beaten path. Every component was selected to elevate the riding experience while respecting the spirit of the original GS.

For long-distance practicality, the motorcycle retains a Unit Garage luggage system, for which we are an official Swiss dealer. The soft TPU waterproof bag was chosen specifically because it complements the lightweight philosophy of the build. Its roll-top construction allows the rider to easily adjust carrying capacity while maintaining excellent weather protection, making it equally suitable for daily use and extended adventures.

The chassis was simplified around a custom seat designed to perfectly follow the descending line of the fuel tank while naturally flowing into the rear luggage rack. Polished aluminium fenders echo the chrome frame and polished rims, creating visual continuity throughout the motorcycle. The engine, swingarm and final drive were completely refurbished and micro-blasted, restoring their factory appearance while giving the entire machine a fresh and authentic finish. Compared to the original configuration, a substantial amount of weight was removed, resulting in a motorcycle that feels considerably lighter, both visually and dynamically.

This build seeks to preserve everything that made the original machine special—its balance, character and versatility—while refining it through carefully selected upgrades, reduced weight and a cleaner, more purposeful design..
