BMW R80 GS
M-E 63
The Spirit of the HP2, Reimagined.
At the heart of the project lies a fully rebuilt engine upgraded to 1000 cc, delivering a significant increase in torque and character. A handcrafted ZACH side-mounted exhaust system frees the rear wheel visually while allowing the boxer to breathe with a deeper, more purposeful sound. To further enhance the engine's appearance, the original plastic airbox was replaced with a beautifully crafted aluminium unit, exposing the mechanical architecture and turning the powertrain into the visual centerpiece of the motorcycle.
The bodywork pays tribute to BMW's iconic performance heritage. The compact fuel tank intentionally exposes more of the engine, reinforcing the motorcycle's muscular stance while visually reducing its mass. Finished in a vibrant BMW-inspired blue across the tank, front fender and rear cowl, the paintwork recalls the spirit of the legendary HP2 while giving this custom build its own unmistakable identity.
The result is a machine that captures the versatility of a GS, the aggression of a supermoto and the timeless soul of BMW's air-cooled boxer. Lightweight, purposeful and engineered without compromise, this Meister Engineering creation proves that adventure heritage and razor-sharp road performance can coexist in one unforgettable motorcycle.
Some motorcycles are built to travel. Others are built to attack every corner. This BMW R80GS Paralever was created to do both. Inspired by the legendary BMW HP2, it blends the rugged DNA of the GS with the precision, agility and attitude of a modern supermoto, resulting in a machine that feels as thrilling as it looks.
Originally a BMW R80GS Paralever from the early 1990s, the bike provided the perfect foundation for a complete Meister Engineering transformation. While the unmistakable boxer silhouette remains, almost every component has been redesigned, refined or rebuilt to create a lighter, sharper and far more engaging riding experience without losing the authenticity of the original air-cooled twin.
The chassis follows the same philosophy. The frame, engine, final drive, wheels and every major mechanical component have been carefully prepared and powder-coated in satin black, creating a complete blackout aesthetic that highlights the striking blue bodywork. At the rear, a Meister Engineering homologated short subframe supports a bespoke single-seat unit finished with a handcrafted seat cowl, creating perfect visual continuity between the fuel tank, rear section and front fender. A fully adjustable Wilbers Black Line shock absorber completes the rear suspension with both performance and elegance.
Every control has been designed around rider engagement. A Renthal Fatbar provides a confident, upright riding position, while a discreet Motogadget Motoscope Mini is integrated directly into the handlebar. Front braking has been transformed with a 320 mm Brembo conversion, relocation bracket and Brembo RCS master cylinder, delivering the precision and power expected from a true performance motorcycle.
This R80GS perfectly embodies the spirit of Meister Engineering: a motorcycle built for fun, engineered for reliability, and refined with just the right amount of craftsmanship. Equally at home on a mountain road, a gravel track or a week-long journey across Europe.
