Black is not a colour. It's an attitude.
The client's vision was crystal clear: total blackout. Every visible component was carefully refinished in either gloss or satin black to create a monochromatic machine with exceptional visual depth. The engine, wheels and numerous chassis components were completely disassembled, prepared and powder-coated, giving the motorcycle a uniform appearance that rewards every closer look.
The fuel tank became one of the signature elements of the build. Finished in a deep matte black, it is highlighted by an elegant gloss black pinstripe that subtly catches the light and echoes the gloss black frame beneath it. The result is understated yet sophisticated—proof that true luxury often lies in restraint. A matte black Monza fuel cap completes the composition with a subtle vintage touch.
Lighting and finishing details were designed with the same philosophy. Classic Bates headlights at both the front and rear preserve the timeless character of the motorcycle, while a bespoke license plate bracket integrates perfectly into the rear section. Fork gaiters eliminate the remaining chrome around the fork tubes and strengthen the dark, mechanical appearance. Completing the look is a matte black Hattech exhaust, adding another discreet layer to the all-black theme while enhancing the premium finish.
The BMW R80 RT Monolever has long been one of the most comfortable touring motorcycles of its era. Powered by BMW's legendary air-cooled boxer twin and equipped with the lightweight Monolever rear suspension, it was built to cover thousands of kilometres with reliability and ease. For this project, however, comfort became only the starting point. The objective was to strip away everything unnecessary and reveal a darker, far more purposeful personality.
To reinforce this minimalist philosophy, Meister Engineering designed and installed a homologated rear frame, perfectly integrated into the new silhouette.
A hand-crafted custom seat follows the line of the frame with precision, while bespoke front and rear fenders finished in matte black complete the clean and timeless proportions. Every line flows naturally from front to rear without visual interruption.
Performance and riding feel were equally important. A Renthal handlebar offers a more natural riding position, while the compact Daytona Velona speedometer keeps the cockpit clean and focused.
