BMW R80

M-E 70

Where timeless engineering meets understated adventure.

For this project, the vision was to create a motorcycle with a rugged yet refined personality. Every mechanical component was carefully restored before the engine received a complete matte black finish. The frame and wheels were powder-coated in a unique matte khaki-bronze tone that changes subtly with the light, giving the bike a distinctive appearance that sits somewhere between military functionality and premium craftsmanship.

The fuel tank remains elegantly understated, finished in deep gloss black with subtle grey pinstripes that highlight its iconic shape without overpowering the overall design. At both ends, classic Bates headlights and taillights reinforce the timeless aesthetic, proving that simplicity often creates the strongest visual impact.

This is a motorcycle that doesn't rely on bright colours or excessive details to stand out. Instead, it celebrates proportion, texture and craftsmanship, creating a refined custom BMW that feels equally at home in the city, on winding mountain roads or simply admired while standing still.

The BMW R80 RT Monolever has long been admired for its reliability, balanced handling, and unmistakable flat-twin character. Introduced as a comfortable touring motorcycle, it became one of BMW's most dependable platforms of the 1980s. Its robust monolever chassis and air-cooled boxer engine made it the perfect foundation for a custom build designed to blend classic heritage with a more purposeful, minimalist attitude.

The rear of the motorcycle was completely redesigned around our signature shortened subframe, complemented by handcrafted steel fenders that perfectly follow the proportions of the bike. A brushed stainless steel Hattech exhaust system provides a deep, authentic boxer soundtrack while adding a clean mechanical contrast to the darker finishes throughout the build.

The riding position was completely reworked using a low Renthal handlebar for a more dynamic stance, while braking performance was significantly improved thanks to a Brembo PS master cylinder. A Wilbers rear shock enhances both comfort and handling, and the entire electrical system was rebuilt from scratch to ensure modern reliability while keeping the motorcycle visually clean and uncluttered.
