BMW K75S – The Flying Brick Reimagined
This BMW K75S belongs firmly to the second category. Conceived as one of Meister Engineering’s signature builds, it represents our vision of what the iconic BMW K-series can become when engineering, design and homologation are treated with the same level of obsession.
As with all our K-series projects, every major modification has been designed to comply with Swiss road regulations and is fully registered.
The rear section features our CNC-machined homologated Retro Ride suspension conversion, combined with our CNC rear frame and integrated seat cowl assembly. Together, these components completely redefine the motorcycle’s proportions while preserving full legality and usability.
The result is a dramatically cleaner silhouette with a purposeful café racer stance that remains perfectly roadworthy.
To sharpen the handling characteristics, the front fork was slightly lowered and paired with Continental RoadAttack tires. These tires offer exceptional grip, stability, and rider confidence, perfectly complementing the agile nature of the K75 chassis and transforming the motorcycle into a remarkably capable road machine.
Mechanically, this K75S received far more than a cosmetic restoration. The motorcycle had spent many years in storage before the project began. On K-series engines, prolonged storage can often lead to internal corrosion issues, particularly because the side stand position can leave parts of the cylinders insufficiently lubricated over time. To ensure absolute reliability, we elected to replace the entire engine with a healthy unit rather than simply refurbishing the original one.
The paintwork was created entirely in-house and finished in Grey, accented by a central black stripe running across the tank and tail section. This timeless color combination highlights the distinctive shape of the K75S while giving the motorcycle a refined and contemporary presence.
A CNC-machined fuel cap was added as a functional piece of jewelry, providing a premium detail that perfectly matches the overall level of craftsmanship found throughout the build.
The original instrumentation was replaced with a Motogadget Motoscope Pro, bringing modern technology to the cockpit while dramatically simplifying the visual environment around the handlebars. The result is a cleaner, more focused riding experience without sacrificing functionality.
Introduced in the late 1980s, the BMW K75S occupied a unique place in BMW’s history.
It has earned a reputation as one of the finest motorcycles ever produced by BMW. Powered by its legendary three-cylinder "Flying Brick" engine, it combines remarkable smoothness, reliability, and everyday usability. Even decades after its introduction, the K75S remains admired for its unique character and engineering excellence.
A bespoke seat cowl was developed specifically for this project, perfectly following the lines of the fuel tank and rear frame.
The wheels were completely refinished and powder-coated in satin black. This simple yet effective modification modernizes the motorcycle's appearance and creates a striking contrast with the bodywork while emphasizing the bike's muscular stance.
At the front, a bespoke front fender was developed to complement the new proportions of the motorcycle. The design is minimalist and elegant, reducing visual weight while maintaining effective protection and preserving a factory-quality appearance.
A homologated MASS exhaust system completes the package. It preserves the engine’s performance while fully complying with Swiss noise regulations and technical inspections, and is officially registered in the motorcycle's documentation.
The custom seat features premium upholstery with contrasting grey stitching, adding a subtle touch of sophistication while ensuring long-distance comfort.
The finished motorcycle embodies everything we love about the BMW K75S: smoothness, reliability, and character.
Enhanced by modern components, handcrafted details, and countless hours of development, this Retroride-inspired build gives new life to one of BMW's most beloved classics while remaining true to its original spirit.
