Ristretto Racer
Story of the bike:
“What attracted me to this project was, first and foremost, the concept itself: creating an exclusive limited series of 10 Honda Monkeys, each with its own distinct identity, character, and level of craftsmanship worthy of a true custom build. A small motorcycle treated with the same dedication and attention to detail as a full-scale custom machine, produced in a very limited number and built with genuine soul.
I was also drawn to the challenge that came long before the bikes were even built: presenting concepts on paper, imagining the motorcycles, and then convincing friends and people close to Eric to trust us before a single bike existed. Turning a vision into confidence was an essential part of the journey.
For me, it was also a rewarding human experience: creating something alongside a friend and discovering what we could achieve by combining our skills and ideas. That mindset has been at the heart of Meister Engineering from the very beginning. Many of the projects I have built over the years were created with friends—or with people who became friends along the way.
For my own Monkey, I wanted to reinterpret a motorcycle that means a great deal to me: my 1977 BMW R100S, a bike deeply connected to memories I share with my father from more than a decade ago. I drew inspiration from the iconic bikini fairing I designed for that motorcycle, as well as from its clean and understated café racer spirit.
In the end, this motorcycle is about trust, friendship, memories, and style. Small but significant in everything it represents.”
